Renowned Fuji maestro Abass Akande Obesere, popularly known as Omo Rapala, is gearing up for a grand celebration as he approaches his milestone 60th birthday, coming on January 28th 2025.
The celebrated singer, famed for his energetic performances on the Fuji music genre, has revealed plans to splurge millions of naira on five luxury houses in commemoration of his big day.
Obesere made this known during one of his performances, where he bragged about opening two houses in Lekki and three in Ibadan ahead of his birthday.
Highlighting plans for his 60th birthday celebration, the Fuji singer disclosed that he will also gift his backup singers and dancers numerous plots of land. He also intended to give out a new house.
The ‘Egungun’ record breaker revealed that he initially didn’t intend to publicize his birthday plans but felt compelled to do so due to rumors from naysayers claiming he is broke and financially struggling.
Speaking in his Yoruba dialect, in his words, “This coming January 28th, 2025, I will open 5 houses at once. Two in Lekki, three in Ibadan. My backup singers and dancers will also have the right to land. On that day, I will be giving someone a new house. I don’t want to shout, but people said I am broke and have no money.”
