A doctor of the @nigeriahealthblog explains the risk of bathing newborn babies with disinfectants.
In a video, he shares that Dettol and its like can damage the skin of the baby and also wipe off the positive skin bacteria that fight against infection.
Rashes and other baby sickness according to the doctor are a direct effect of disinfectants including izal and medicated soaps.
He recommends plain lukewarm water to bathe babies because they don’t have any underlying germs from the womb that will harm them.
