In a new video circulating online, social media influencer VeryDarkMan was seen expressing great joy as the court adjourned Falana’s defamation suit against him to January 2025.
On Thursday, an Ikeja High Court reserved January 23 to hear the defamation case filed against the controversial online activist, Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).
VeryDarkMan is facing a defamatory suit filed against him by Mr Femi Falana (SAN), and his son, Folarin, also called Falz.
It’s worth recalling that in a leaked video, allegedly created by Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, VeryDarkMan made remarks about the alleged role Mr. Falana played in Bobrisky’s attempt to secure amnesty while in prison custody.
Femi Falana and Falz denied the claim, demanding that VeryDarkMan issue an apology and retract his statement, which they labeled as “defamatory,” within 24 hours. However, VeryDarkMan refused to apologize, asserting that his intent was to expose corruption in Nigeria.
In his words; “Just touched down Lagos for falana and daddy’s boy case against me…..according to them I allegedly d3f@med them,as for me I 3xpos3d corruption….anyways see yall in court tomorrow IKEJA HIGH COURT 9am.”
In another clip, VDM wrote; “They thought my lawyer was a joke they thought he will be intimidated THE EDO MAN MOUNT SEH,OBA GHATO KPERE baba shake SAN and yes the RATELS CHOKE FOR GROUND LIKE SAND SAND don’t play with the ratel movement GOD BLESS ALL THE RATELS OUT THERE.”

When the case was called on Thursday, counsel for Falana and Falz, Mr. Muiz Banire (SAN), informed the court that the originating process had been filed and served on the parties. Banire also noted that a motion on notice was served on October 25. However, Justice Matthias Dawodu pointed out that the originating process was not available in court records.
Banire requested an adjournment to complete the required administrative processes. “In this circumstance, my lord, the best thing to do is to adjourn the matter so that we can go back to the registry to file all the administrative processes,” he stated.
In response, VeryDarkMan’s counsel, Mr. Marvin Omorogbe, argued that no valid writ of summons was before the court and requested that the lawsuit be struck out. Omorogbe questioned the process, stating that the registry should not prepare any additional administrative process, and argued that the writ filed was invalid as it was not properly before the court.
In court on Thursday, Mr. Muiz Banire (SAN), counsel for Femi Falana and Falz, informed Justice Matthias Dawodu that the originating process had been filed and served. However, Justice Dawodu noted that this document was not in the court’s records.
Mr. Marvin Omorogbe, counsel for VeryDarkMan, argued that the writ of summons was invalid as it bore the same suit number as the preemptive remedy proceedings, which should have concluded once the injunction was either granted or denied. He stated, “They have gone ahead to file a writ using the same suit number as the preemptive remedy proceedings. The court said no, that a fresh writ of summons with a new suit number needs to be filed.” Omorogbe then requested a date to address their preliminary objection.
Omorogbe also asked the court to withdraw a motion dated October 18, which he argued attempted to appeal based on issues within the preemptive proceedings. With no objection from the claimants’ counsel, Justice Dawodu struck out the motion and adjourned the case to January 23, 2025, for the hearing of the preliminary objections.

VeryDarkMan added; “Like I said yall it’s always the more you look the less you see,make the case sha end quick before mama sef go enter podcast….papa don go,daughter don go,son don go,if e no end soon unto the next one……..NA CORRUPTION I EXPOSE,SORRY SAY UNA NAME ALLEGEDLY MIX WITH CORRUPTION THIS TIME……..(NO MORE RESPECT OF THAT NAME FOR MY BOOK AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN)bye.”
