This show of wealth has ignited a backlash from citizens who are grappling with economic challenges, widespread hardship, and rising inflation.
A Twitter user, Pure Stanley said; “Many Nigerians view the display as a tone-deaf flaunt of privilege by a public official at a time when many are struggling to afford basic necessities. The incident has raised concerns about the insensitivity of some leaders to the daily struggles faced by the populace.”
“While almost all the banks in Nigeria are not dispensing more than N20-50k to their customers “Citizens”, Aliyu Madakin has over N50-80m in cash at his house. How?! How did he get his hands on such an amount? Which bank dispensed the money to him? And what does he want to use the money to do? These are the kind of pple occupying our wheels of power and are steadily impoverishing this country.”
@Bujourz wrote; “These Northerners are thieves. I swear. The National Budget is just for them. We are not serious yet to be called a nation.”

A Facebook user, Usman Sani Sona said; “We must remove politics of money as long as we are going that way we will live in suffering like the one we are in now because that is not what we need from our House of Representatives look at the way they keep quiet about the situation we are being thrown in this country because of their need I will pay us and if they will watch something, that’s all, they have tied our mouths.
Aminu Sabiu Asg wrote; “This is disappointing. Instead of simply displaying cash, leaders should invest in real opportunities that help people stand on their own. Handing out money here and there isn’t a sustainable solution, especially when the amount given barely covers essentials for a week due to the high cost of living. True support would mean creating jobs or empowering people with skills—teaching them to “fish” rather than giving them a “fish” for a day.”
Also, Muhsin Muhsin on Facebook said; “People really surprise me. At least this money is going to be distributed openly—better that it’s visible than hidden away in silence like others have done. Where’s the outrage for those who’ve stolen and kept quiet about it?”
Fariki Photos Dandago wrote; “On the Day of Judgment, by God’s will, we will cross through and be shown the truth.”
Fear Less reacted; “The North and West have been devastated, and it’s heartbreaking—especially when the North has some of the most impoverished communities. Until Nigerians set aside religious and tribal differences and unite to uproot the deeply entrenched corruption, will continue to decline.”
